Bug
Who needs cat toys?
We were home for the weekend. It was a joy to see Whitsun. She wasn’t effusive when we first got home—I suspect we smelled wrong. But about one hour after we walked in, she suddenly erupted in a stream of conversation and purrs and recriminations.
Here she is chasing a stink bug. We’ve never had them in the house before, but this year, we’ve had a few a week all winter long. For most of the winter, we only saw one at a time. We’d dispose of it, and a day or so later, there would be another one. We began making jokes that it was the same bug, reincarnating after its swirly burial at sea.1

Toilet flush. I do not abide cruelty to animals, but we do kill most, but not all, insects in the home. Spiders are allowed to remain as long as they respect the sanctity of the bedroom, and the lightning-fast venomous centipedes that occasionally enter the basement are also left alone. I appreciate the spiders’ and centipedes’ work dispatching the tiny gnats and fruit flies that occasionally show up.

I'm afraid I murder any insect that enters my home. They have a huge outdoor world to live in where they are safe from me. Love the pictures of Whitsun and the stink bugs. Last week I got 2 cats and finally once again I have a reason to wake up each morning. My hands are full, my home is full and my heart is full once again.
She is adorable. Love the "bap, bap, bap!"
My panther cat stalks spiders and any other crawly things. . . When a bug is involved, she can hold her "post" for a very long time--that is at least one thing she's patient about. I find corpses and know she's been working through the night. :)
